Joanna Maksymowicz Raczyńska also known as Jona Ardyn is a violist, session musician and a vocalist by passion. Daily she plays at German Preussisches Kammerorchester in Prenzlau, and in her free time she writes texts and music for her songs.
Her musical education started in Łódź, and then she went to the United States for scholarship at H. Mancini Institute in Los Angeles, where she worked with the greatest jazz and movie music composers. She continued her studies in Oklahoma City, and there, as the only European she sang in a gospel choir. Then, she took assistantship at the Music Conservatory in Kansas City.
In 2009 Jona got Master of Art diploma with a honorable mention, at the Academy of Music in Poznań (Branch in Szczecin). In the same year she also received a Prize of West-Pomeranian Voivodship Marshall for the best graduate diploma in the field of plastic and music arts.
She includes among her artistic successes the main role in the Chinese musical "Red Star Over China” (premiere Beijing 2011), quarterfinal of the Amber Nightingale contest at 46th Sopot Festival, where she sang Tomer Biran's "Anything goes” song, participation in the Chinese Music Gala with Polish Radio Orchestra (Teatr Polski, Warsaw, 2012) and… honorary citizenship of Oklahoma State for excellent artistic achievements.
She worked with, inter alia, Isis Gee (Eurovision contest in Belgrade), Tomer Biran, music producer (music for movies like "Sex and the City", "The Sopranos"), Blue Café, Raggattack, Varius Manx, Andrzej Krzywy, Wojtkek Olszak, Jamese Newton Howard, Janusz Józefowicz, Janusz Stokłosa, Dianna Krall, Gunther Schuller, Adam Makowicz, Wojtek Pilichowski, Marek Kościkiewicz, Łukasz Lach.
